How to keep going (strong) with a trackpad that's stopped clicking.

So the trackpad click has stopped working. Well you're going to need a USB mouse (any type will do) so you can make the first change.
First, you need to enable 'tap to click' so you can tap the trackpad to click on things. Go to System Preferences > Trackpad > Point & Click and enable Tap to click.

But the problem is you still can’t click and drag anything (like a slider or a browser tab).
This can be fixed by our second change - enabling three finger dragging on the trackpad.
Go to System Preferences > Accessibility > Pointer Control > Trackpad Options and then check Enable dragging using the three finger drag option.

Now you can tap to click and then use three finger dragging on the trackpad to click and drag.
You can unplug that USB mouse now.
Tip: Three finger dragging is also great for selecting text.
Great article!
